Carol Atkinson is a fashion designer and textile artist who specialises in creating unique, craft based fashion accessories for women, men, children and the home. She uses knit, boiled wool felt and vintage and recycled fabrics to produce unusual, and often one-off, pieces, using applique and freehand machine embroidery.  

Carol graduated from The University of Derby, England, in 1998 with a BA (hons) in Textile Design. She specialised in knitted textiles and began her career as a studio assistant with a busy fashion company in Derbyshire. Following her time there shewent on to spend 4 years living and working in Italy as a menswear and sportswear designer and a further 3 years working freelance, from the UK, for the same company.

Carol launched her own range of knitted fashion and home accessories in November 2004.

She also continues to design on a freelance basis for knitwear companies in England and Italy.
